Just as a Clear Bra can help protect your paint – our head and tail light protection film can seal and protect your head or tail lights. Whether your car has acrylic plastic or glass headlights our headlight protection film can prevent chipping, cracking, hazing & pitting, oxidation (when they turn chalky or ugly yellow), and can serve as a cosmetic upgrade as well.

We strongly recommend clear light protection film for anyone with acrylic (plastic) headlights both original and ESPECIALLY aftermarket lamp housings. Sometimes original parts can be cost prohibitive to customers and they downgrade to aftermarket parts for a ‘cheap fix’ These aftermarket parts are primarily made to lower standards than original items and have thinner plastic with different chemical makeup and exterior UV / longevity than a factory unit will. In addition to the housing being of substandard materials, the light output of aftermarket lights can be significantly less than original parts.

Often times aftermarket units can be suitable replacements but if you want their appearance to last (and not have to buy new headlights every two years) you need look no further than our protection film.

“How long does this last, is it permanent?”

Here’s how it works: The expert materials and adhesive craftsmen at 3M have created a UV resistant clear vinyl film that gently adheres to your lamp body adding a layer of protection that takes the punishment of the sand, grit, and rocks that will encounter your lights while driving. We are so confident in this film that it carries a 5 year guarantee against yellowing or cracking! The films lifetime will be determined by its time in an outdoor environment with results varying on how you store your car / conditions in which you drive it.

When either the film has lived out its life due to either time or debris you can simply remove it revealing your pristine head or tail light without requiring thousands of dollars in restorative light replacement. An excellent investment that adds years of protection to your lights- preserving resale value while significantly decreasing the need for future replacement.

For Example a base model 2003 Mercedes E-Class with HID lighting would cost $2900 to replace both front headlights with new lamps. A 2000 BMW 3-Series – with Xenon lights would be $2700 and a 2009 Audi A4 with Xenon would be $2400 to replace. Even standard Halogen Headlight Assemblies start at $900 to replace!

For both those seeking cosmetic upgrades & protection we offer headlight film in several flavors:

Clear – For invisible headlight protection- street legal with no decrease in light output!

Smoke- For Headlight protection and a clean smoked out appearance. Slight decrease in light output for off-road & show car use only.

Blue- Headlight Protection with a light blue tint offers pleasant color change to day/night driving. Very slight decrease in light output but still for off-road & show car use only (it’s ok- we won’t tell).

Yellow- Headlight Protection in yellow for those looking to be more visible on the road. Yellow headlights are motorsport inspired and popular with club racers. Very slight decrease in light output but still for off-road & show car use only .

This protection film is 100% custom hand cut and molded to your lamp so pricing will vary between light designs & models (BMW vs. Ferrari etc.); prices range from $80-$800. Depending on your Make / Model some lights will need to be removed from your vehicle, and some vehicles require front end disassembly to remove lights.
